Dan Bourne

Keyboards / Lead and Backing Vocals / Percussion / "Dr. J"

Dan "Boudy" started tickling the ivories at the early age of 5. While playing percussion in the high school band, he started a rock group, and later helped put together Blue Soul, a popular central Kentucky group in the late 60s. He then played with the band Cold Smoke in the Greater Cincinnati area for almost 25 years. Thanks to his wife showing him a "Wanted-Keyboard Man" ad, Dan ended a brief retirement to join Caught Red Handed.

Dan is proud of the groups tight, multi-part harmonies, and he has the classic "do it right, or don't do it" attitude. He also plays a primary role in the variety and arrangements of Caught Red Handed material. He conjures a classic sound with his KORG CX3 and Leslie Tone Cabinet (which replaced the "love-to-hear-it, hate-to-lift-it" Hammond A100), and, along with an Ensoniq TS10 synthesizer and a Yamaha PSR keyboard can reproduce most any sound or tone that is required in the wide range of songs on the Band's play list. Dan takes his position as the "Patriarch" (aka "Pops" ) of the band seriously, but never forgets to have a good time!
